HeroQuest Chaos Monsters

It's been a very busy couple of months, but inbetween all the stress, I've found a little time to start on and finish my chaos warriors and sorcerers. I've seen people select colour schemes based upon the 4 gods of chaos (Tzeench, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Khorne), and while I didn't really know about all that background lore (as I don't play Warhammer), I liked the colours. So I painted mine in these 4 colours as well: green for Nurgle, red for Khorne, blue for Tzeench and purple for Slaanesh. My chaos sorcerers were painted as shown below: 1 classic HeroQuest paintjob as depicted on the dungeon master's screen, and 1 notorious villain from the 80's: Skeletor!

These were painted as follows:
- chaos black undercoat sprayed on
- chainmail and bases drybrushed
- base colours painted on, from dark to light, by adding white to the paints and painting from the recesses to the elevated areas.
- extra shading added with washes
- finishing shades added by lightly applying QuickShade with a brush
- after drying for 2 days I sprayed them with matte varnish.

I've also added 2 trapdoor tiles, made with milliput on a simple square victrix base, then painted.

  1. Great work on the 'Skeletor' sorcerer. Now you'll need a barbarian painted like 'He-Man' to be his foe!
Cool site, I haven't played Descent yet but now I'm sorely tempted!
